Our mechanics are A&P rated and are required to attend recurrent training.

BUILDERS ASSISTANCE:  We offer a wide array of services to assist aircraft builders with component fabrication, repair and finishing.

DIRECTOR OF MAINTENANCE:  Alan Shackleton, Director of Maintenance and a principal owner of Blue Sky Aero, Inc. has been involved in aircraft maintenance and restoration since 1980. Known for his sheet metal and fabric work, he has experience in everything from antiques, classics and warbirds to contemporary singles and light twins. Many airplanes are flying behind his engine overhauls. Alan holds a mechanics certificate with airframe and powerplant ratings and an Inspection Authorization. He has been a pilot and aircraft owner for over twenty years. Alan also holds degrees in business administration (WCC) and economics. (NIU).

Alan served as the president of EAA Chapter 579 in Aurora, IL for twenty years and is currently a member of the board of directors and is the corporate secretary for EAA in Oshkosh, WI. Alan is an EAA Technical Counselor, assisting aircraft builders in the northern Illinois area.

SHOP HOURS:  Current hours are 8:30AM to 5:00PM, Monday-Friday and 8AM to Noon on Saturday. Additional evening and weekend hours are available for emergency repairs and to meet your critical deadlines.

PICK-UP AND DELIVERY SERVICES:  For your convenience, we offer pick-up and delivery to and from your airport and can do some routine and emergency service at your location.

QUICK TURNAROUND: We offer quick turnaround for most routine maintenance and hangar space for extended projects.
